Can my hair get tangled in this?

No, the device has a built in anti-tangle system which prevents this from happening. If too much hair has been placed inside the barrel, the device will simply shut off automatically allowing your hair to be released.

There is a charging port on the bottom of the base, a charging cable is provided with your order.

How do I know when my hair is curled?

After you place your hair in the barrel and activate via the power button, a long beep will signify when your hair is done.
